Lecture: Connecticut, Color and the Civil War

On February 15th, 2025 at 1pm, John Mills will be giving a lecture for the Connecticut Society of Genealogists.

During this presentation, John will delve into the lives and experiences of some of the men who enlisted in Connecticut's Colored Regiments during the Civil War, what drove them to enlist and the perspective of Connecticut at the time. John will also discuss his research into past enslaved individuals in Connecticut, highlighting their experiences and his work to acknowledge them.

The lecture will occur at the Connecticut Society of Genealogists Library, located at 175 Maple Street
in East Hartford, CT.
