Connecticut’s Forgotten Heroes: The Lathrop’s

On April 19th, 2025, John Mills will be presenting a lecture at Central Connecticut State University. The lecture will focus on the African American Lathrop family of Norwich.

This lecture will be part of a larger conference focusing on America’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The conference will be entitled, “Connecticut 1775: The Revolution is Coming.” This will be a day long conference. The conference will provide historical context, as well as explore the role Connecticut’s museums, historical societies, organizations and individuals are playing in planning for the Semiquincentennial of the United States.
