John Mills will be giving an in-person lecture for the Abigail Phelps Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The lecture will occur at Eno Memorial Hall in Simsbury, CT on April 14th, 2025 at 1pm EDT.
During this presentation, Mills will discuss how his own family history of enslavement impacted him and spurred him to pursue research into other historically enslaved individuals in Connecticut. Mills will reflect on how narratives of the enslaved are presented today, as well as his involvement in recent community projects (specifically in Simsbury) to acknowledge and honor them.
