A New Mural Honoring Primus — Join Us in Norwich!
Primus’s story spans generations. His son served in the Revolutionary War, and two of his second great-grandsons served in the Civil War—one of whom is memorialized on the 29th Connecticut Colored Regiment Monument in New Haven.
I WILL Celebrate them…
Last year, while state organizations planned to place wreaths on the graves of Revolutionary War soldiers during this 250th anniversary year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Esther Wallace Jackson's three brothers and brother-in-law (London Wallace, Zebulan Wallace, Joseph Wallace and Cato Sands) weren't on the list.
The Narrative of Primus
My original intent with this book was to ensure the words of Primus were available to all. I wanted people to hear his emotion during his capture in The Gambia and his mother's screams as her son was being torn from her arms.
My Book is Open for Pre-Order on Amazon!
I HAVE A NEW BOOK! My book is entitled, The Narrative of Primus. It uncovers the remarkable, nearly forgotten story of a ten-year-old boy taken from his mother's bedside in West Africa and forced aboard a slave ship bound for America.
