On Saturday, September 6th, 2025 at 1pm, John Mills will be speaking at Venture Smith Day in East Haddam, CT. The event runs from 1 pm – 4 pm in the cemetery where Venture is buried. If it rains, we hold the event in the First Church of Christ, Congregational (499 Town Street, East Haddam) next to the cemetery.
John will talk about the parallels between the Prince Mortimer and Venture Smith stories, his own family history of enslavement, and his work towards solving current-day impacts of chattel slavery.
