Teen Time at the Mattatuck Museum

  • Mattatuck Museum 144 West Main Street Waterbury, CT, 06702 United States (map)

On Wednesday’s of each week, the Mattatuck Museum hosts an event they call Teen Time. It’s an opportunity for teenage kids to hang out with their friends, try a relaxing craft, get creative with graphic design, or chill on a beanbag!

On Wednesday, April 24th at 2:30pm, the Alex Breanne Corporation in collaboration with Riverside Cemetery and The RiseUp Group will be presenting during Teen Time at the Mattauck. We will be telling the story of the former Waterbury enslaved man, Fortune. Our presentation will walk through the story of his life, his death, the usage of his body for medical science, the display of his bones within the museum, and his ultimate burial 215 years later. We will also talk through our efforts to produce a mural in his honor.

Admission is $10. If you would like to attend, please register here.

P.S. We have secured $19,000 towards the total cost of $30,000 for the mural.  To learn more or to donate, please visit FortuneMural.org
