Juneteenth Lecture at the Connecticut State Capitol

  • Connecticut State Capitol Building 210 Capitol Avenue Hartford, CT, 06106 United States (map)

On June 19, 2026 at 11:30am, John Mills will be giving a Juneteenth lecture at the Connecticut State Capitol.

As the United States marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this program honors the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of Black soldiers from Connecticut who fought for freedom in the American Revolution and the Civil War—often while denied the very rights they defended.

This program is sponsored by the State of Connecticut Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission.

We will share the registration link once it is available.
